Santa Maria de Colombo
One of the most photographed boats or ships is the Santa Maria de Colombo, the Pirate Ship, which is the exact replica of Christopher Columbus’s boat, built in 1998. This trip has an adventurous feeling about it, as one can almost feel how it was when the island was discovered 500-odd years ago. The boat also goes out twice a day and generally covers the same route as the catamarans which also stops at the bottom of Cabo Girão (The highest sea cliff in Europe), for a swim. But depending on the wind, they also go out towards the eastern side to use the sales. There is also an excellent chance to spot dolphins and whales along this trip. A really good selection of Madeira boat tours, especially for those with children.

TOUR LOCATION
Most boat tours begin and end at the marina in Funchal. The majority of boat tours depart from the new marina, which is located the farthest out from the harbor. It is a roughly fifteen minute walk from the harbor to the marina. Most boat tours recommend that passengers check in 15–20 minutes prior to departure.
