Pirate Boat Trip
The Santa Maria de Colombo, also known as the Pirate Ship, is a 1998 replica of Christopher Columbus’s boat and is one of the most photographed boats or ships. This journey has a sense of adventure, as one can almost imagine what it was like when the island was discovered roughly 500 years ago. The boat also departs twice daily and generally follows the same route as the catamarans, stopping for a swim at the base of Cabo Giro (Europe’s tallest sea cliff). However, depending on the wind, they also head east in order to take advantage of the sales. Along this journey, there is also a good chance of spotting dolphins and whales. A great selection of Madeira boat tours, particularly for families with children.
